About Brian Smith

Brian brings many years of business experience on Martha's Vineyard with him to Portfolio Properties. Brian's first visit to the island was over 50 years ago on a day trip from his parents Summer home on Cape Cod. Through the years he was a frequent visitor until a headhunter call over 30 years ago brought Brian to the Vineyard full time. Since then, he has both managed and owned several Island businesses.

Actively involved in our community and local politics, Brian continues to be a member of the Personnel Board for the town of Oak Bluffs as well as the Dukes County Personnel Board. Brian ihas also been a member of the Cape and Islands Board of Realtors Finance Committee and has served on the Martha's Vineyard Commission in several roles including Treasurer and Chairman of the Land Use Planning Committee.. He has also volunteered as a math tutor in the Vineyard schools.

Brian has four children, all of whom have been educated in the Martha's Vineyard school system. He currently lives in Oak Bluffs with his wife and youngest daughter.
